Some great performers including Hip Hop stars The Street Warriors will take the stage when the Vibe Alive festival returns to Port Augusta on 24-25 August at Central Oval, Augusta Terrace, Port Augusta, SA.
Vibe Alive is a fun, two day festival for young Australians of all backgrounds that celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. It is two days of extreme fun with dancing, rapping, singing, painting and sport. The aim is to give young people a chance to express themselves and show their school, their family and their community what they’re good at.
With a special health focus, the Port Augusta Vibe Alive will include a fun, physical workout with “Move It Mob Style” with host dancers Ghenoa Gela and Sam Carroll. It’s a fast paced, interactive hip hop workshop that aims to teach participants the latest dance moves, instil a love for physical activity, provide an opportunity to get active, and use energy positively.
Hip Hop stars The Street Warriors are performing during the festival and at the Community Concerts along with other vibrant role models. The Street Warriors have built a loyal following around the country on the back of their energy-filled live shows and unique musical messages.
The Community Concert will be held on the Wednesday evening of the festival and will include children chosen for their performances from the day’s activities. This is their chance to perform on centre stage.
Australian singer/songwriter Nathan Foley will be co-hosting the event, along with actor Luke Carroll. Other role models at the festival include dancers Medika Thorpe and Steven Smith-Ince as well as stand-up comedian and artist Kevin Kropinyeri, surfing champion Lucas Proudfoot, AFL footy star Che Cockatoo Collins and actor and filmmaker Nathan Ramsay.
Performer and choreographer Gail Mabo and Courtney Walter will host Little Vibe – a special program to give young people in early primary school the full festival experience. Registrations are still open for Little Vibe and can be entered via the website at www.vibealive.com.au or by calling the free-call line 1800 623 430.
Vibe Alive is also looking for Volunteers to be part of the event. If you can help out please contact [email protected] or call 1800 623 430.
