Casula call for awards submissions

Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre in Sydney’s south west is calling Indigenous emerging and established artists and students from throughout New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory to create new artwork for their open themed Annual Mil-Pra AECG Aboriginal Exhibition & Art Award 20 Years Deadly 2011.

Awards are open to both adults and children working in all visual arts mediums and include seven award categories, two of which are acquisitive:

  • The Mil-Pra AECG Award ($1,500)
  • Bruce and Caroll Kendall OAM Memorial Award ($500)
  • Mayor’s Choice Acquisitive Award ($3,000)
  • Maria Lock Acquisitive Award ($2,000)
  • Liverpool Women’s Services Award ($500)
  • KARI Award ($400 and $200)
  • Student Awards (PRIMARY $100, SECONDARY $200, RUNNER’S UP (PRIMARY AND SECONDARY – ART SUPPLIES PACKAGES)

Artists must register their interest by filling out a registration form and sending it to Casula Powerhouse by 4.30pm Monday 4 July 2011.

The works will be exhibited from Saturday 13 August – 18 September 2011.
